Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Change Management Specialist for the University Finance and Administration ( UFA) Project Management Office ( PMO). Reporting to the Senior Manager, Change Management in the PMO, this position is responsible for the successful implementation of the UFA PMO structured organizational change management methodology & all activities related to projects and other initiatives as assigned. The Change Management Specialist supports the university's strategic initiatives under which the modernization of university-wide systems, business processes, and organizational structures is housed. This position supports the strategic move towards creating a unified identity and culture, standardized practices, and improved collaboration across Rutgers University-New Brunswick, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, Rutgers University-Newark, and Rutgers University-Camden.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Applies the UFA PMO structured organizational change methodology to project initiatives by working closely with project managers and executive sponsors to support communication efforts.
  • Conducts change impact assessments, stakeholder analysis, and supports training efforts.
  • Conducts stakeholder analysis interviews and supports the engagement efforts through detailed engagement strategies and plans.
  • Leads change activities such as: Identifying and developing plans to engage key stakeholders, conducting change impact assessment with Subject Matter Experts and Project Managers to identify and enhance messaging, supporting the project-level communications process for stakeholder groups across business units, assessing change readiness and providing input to project teams.
  • Supports organizational change management at the project level as assigned.
  • Conducts knowledge transfer sessions with project team leaders and team members as necessary.
  • Plans, prepares and disseminates project information pertinent to Cornerstone, a multi-year strategic project to transform the administrative information systems and processes for Rutgers University.
  • Provides consultation to the project managers, project teams and governance committees related to messaging to enhance project awareness and interest.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Five (5) years' progressive experience working in a change management, project management or communications role.

Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of organizational change management methodologies and its role in a successful project; discretion; ability to work with sensitive and confidential information; and to manage conflict and highly complex situations and relationships.
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, tools and templates for conducting diagnostics, assessing change maturity and organizational readiness.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and be able to work in a varied-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with large scale and complex change initiatives.
  • Experience working in large scale projects and project teams.
  • Exceptional interview skills, and comfort doing so with those in leadership positions.
  • Solid understanding of how people go through change and the change process.
