Responsibilities
Job Summary
Serves as a working operations lead for staff. Acts as a resource for information regarding ADT system, Medicaid, self-pay accounts, and Insurance benefits. Serves as a liaison between the Patient Access representatives, Supervisors and Directors. Serves as a subject matter expert with the patient access processes in the ADT system and any other systems utilized by Patient Access personnel; performs all tasks needed to meet department operation requirements and goals. Participates in identifying needs for process improvements and creating/enhancing processes in the revenue cycle. Maintains ongoing department training program in conjunction with Patient Access Supervisor and trainers.
- Oversees the shift-to-shift responsibilities of the registration staff. Prepares the Department schedule, accepts sick calls as needed and modifies the schedule accordingly. Serves as a resource for employees in regards to all pertinent software applications. Covers any areas in the Admitting Department to assure throughput by completing the necessary tasks.
- Completes reports as assigned.
- Assists with the training of department employees, collaborates with the Market trainers to assure ongoing training within the department.
- Performs registrations in order to stay current on system requirements and ease of use.
- Stays current with knowledge for HIPAA, Federal regulations, state regulations, hospital policy and reimbursement criteria. Attends departmental meetings in order to enhance communications within departments.
- Attends payer in-services (as assigned) and departmental meetings in order to enhance communications and public relation skills. Participates in process improvement activities.
