Position: Estate Settlement Associate II | Division: Wealth Mgmt Services| Work Days: Monday - Friday | Hours of Operation: 8:00 am - 5:00pm

Position Overview: The Estate Settlement Associate II is responsible for interpreting wills and trust documents to establish new accounts, record new assets, and manage routine inquiries and preliminary inventory preparation. This role involves reviewing and approving routine bills, assisting customers, and closing accounts in accordance with established procedures. Essential Functions:
- Interpret
authority documents to complete new account setup and data entry. - Execute new
account checklist procedures. - Provide Wealth Management
Operations with necessary information to set up new assets, including transfer instructions and documentation for cost basis and acquisition dates. - Conduct
research with clients, brokers, and transfer agents to determine the cost basis of assets. - Establish date
of death and alternate values for tax purposes and set up tax costs. Process payment of debts, taxes, and distributions, setting up reminders for regular payments. - Locate,
collect, and value all assets, producing reconciliation statements as needed. - Maintain
accurate client contact information for correspondence, emails, and statements. - Retain client
correspondence and pertinent documents for account records. - Complete
account closings in accordance with the account closing checklist. - Ensure
compliance with trust and related regulations. - Receive and
research requests for information and assistance. - Respond to and
resolve routine inquiries and service issues. - Serve as backup
to the receptionist as needed, answering telephones, assisting clients, and typing correspondence including letters, memos, and reports. - Cross-sell
other bank products and services. - Identify client
needs and communicate with the administrative officer and/or portfolio manager. - Assist with the
development and writing of procedures for estate settlement associate functions. - Assist with
Wealth Management projects, and duties as needed. - This position may require travel within the Bank's geographic area.
Experience & Education:
- 2+ years of estate settlement experience.
- College degree with an emphasis on accounting or business, or equivalent trust experience.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Exceptional client service and telephone skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks concurrently with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively in a team environment and providing support to others.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with Trust Accounting Systems.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
Other Requirements:
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull weights or otherwise move objects weighing as much as 10 lbs. on a regular basis and/or for extended periods of time during the workday.
- Occasional overtime or extended hours may be required.
