Overview

At Esri, our Industry Specialists are experienced GIS subject matter experts within specific industries.

Our AEC Industry Specialist serves as a thought leader in understanding how GIS, mapping, and location analytics can transform and modernize organizations within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry, including civil engineering, infrastructure design, vertical construction, and project delivery.

This Industry Specialist establishes a regular cadence for content (such as webinars, customer success stories, eBooks, social media, blogs, and more) that drives awareness, generates demand, and builds a strong community around GIS in AEC.

The Industry Specialist actively networks with key influencers, thought leaders, and practitioners to position Esri's GIS technology as uniquely suited to solve existing and emerging challenges across AEC workflows.

In close collaboration with the AEC Industry Manager and Esri's AEC sales and services teams, the AEC Industry Specialist contributes to the execution of a targeted marketing and engagement strategy to drive growth and adoption of Esri technology. This includes identifying key market opportunities and supporting the development of Esri's vision for the AEC industry.

Responsibilities



  • Assist the AEC Industry Manager by working with marketing, sales, product, professional services, international distributors, education, and partner teams to deliver impactful campaign tactics
  • Develop a steady stream of thought leadership and content (such as webinars, customer stories, white papers, blogs, social posts) that raises visibility and builds community within AEC
  • Support AEC-focused events including conferences, tradeshows, webinars, and user group meetings
  • Foster the growth of the AEC community on social media and through online collaboration spaces
  • Create, manage, and execute marketing and engagement campaigns aligned to AEC goals. Track progress and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure success
  • Provide insight on competitive landscape and trends to support the AEC Industry Manager, product teams, and business development
  • Research and support strategic positioning of Esri technology within the AEC sector, validated by customer and industry expert feedback
  • Deepen GIS domain expertise in AEC and support internal stakeholders, partners, and customers through presentations, guidance, and collaboration


Requirements



  • 5-7+ years of experience working in the AEC industry, particularly in design, construction, project management, or digital delivery
  • Solid understanding of how GIS is applied within AEC workflows
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities
  • Quick learner with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor's in GIS, geography, engineering, construction management, or a related field


Recommended Qualifications



  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and modern collaboration tools
  • Comfortable presenting in front of diverse audiences
  • Familiarity with web-based business systems and marketing tools
  • Experience working with or alongside solutions such as ArcGIS, BIM platforms, CAD, or digital twin technologies
  • Master's in GIS, geography, engineering, construction management, or a related field

Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is
$87,360 $139,360 USD
