An Oncology RN administers cytotoxic drugs to inpatients and outpatients, while assessing side effects and evaluating condition of the patient. Provides patients with guidelines and teaching regarding chemotherapy and disease process. Serves as chief liaison of patient and oncology service and acts as resource person for patients being seen, both medically and psychologically. Supervises patients in outpatient oncology clinic; arranges referrals for patients to other institutions, i.e., radiation therapy. Graduate of an accredited nursing school. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of West Virginia. Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Completion of Chemotherapy Certification course preferred or completion during first year in position. BSN or in process of obtaining a BSN preferred. Over one through three years of nursing experience. |
