We are searching for a talented Lead Tech-Cytology

Hours: 40hrs

Shift: Day shift; 6:30am - 3:00pm

Location: Mashpee Cytology - Dartmouth, MA

Responsibilities

Under direction of the Director, Manager, Laboratory or Designee and clinical oversight by hospital site Medical Director, perform various duties to support and in support of the Cytology Laboratory/Pathology Department. Perform Cytology laboratory analyses and identify critical or unexpected results, consult with vendors to troubleshoot malfunctions, investigate all incidents related to patient specimens, document and report all findings. Serve as department resource, prioritize, and schedule staff assignments, prepare and present at least 4 in-service trainings annually, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards including POC programs, OSHA, ASCP and CAP regulations. Also perform diversified technical and related duties within the Cytology Section of the hospital Laboratory. Responsible for making cytologic interpretations of specimens and perform procedures according to established policy for preparing specimens for microscopic examination including performance of specimen preparation and staining. Ensure quality control procedures are carried out within areas of own position responsibilities. Perform other related duties within the scope of position as required or assigned


Qualifications

  • A Bachelors Degree in biological, chemical, or physical sciences and completion of clinical practicum in an accredited School of Cytotechnology are required.
  • A minimum of five years related work experience is required.
  • A.S.C.P. registration is required within on year of graduation.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

  • Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
