Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Student Intern.

In this role, the successful candidate We are seeking a motivated and talented Computer Science student to join our research group at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, Department of Radiology. The successful candidate will support our efforts in developing open-source software for image processing pipelines based on our cutting-edge research results. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in software development, testing, and release management within a dynamic research environment.

Job Responsibilities:

    1. Collaborate with researchers to understand and implement software requirements for image processing pipelines.
    2. Develop and maintain unit tests and integration tests to ensure software reliability and performance.
    3. Create and manage release pipelines to facilitate smooth software deployment.
    4. Implement sound dependency management practices to maintain software integrity and compatibility.
    5. Contribute to the documentation of software processes and user guides.
    6. Participate in regular team meetings and provide updates on project progress

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a The student intern must be a full-time student, or if working in the summer months (Mid-May through Mid-Sept), must be planning to return to full-time status in the fall.

Preferred Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a Computer Science or related degree program.
Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
Experience with software testing frameworks and tools.
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with researchers.
Experience with image processing libraries and tools (e.g., FSL, MRTrix).
Knowledge of software release processes.
Previous experience in open-source software development.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $16.50 - $25.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
