About the role:

We are seeking a Director to lead the strategy and operations for the fast-growing Sales, Marketing Technologies and Reporting (SMTR) team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in shaping the strategy and priorities for the SMTR team. Key responsibilities will include executive support, organization management, and driving the execution of select projects in the Customer 360 program. You must possess a combination of skills: strategic thinking, attention to detail, excellent communication skills and a proven track record in cross-functional program management, business management, problem solving using data, process and technology.

What you will do:

Business Operations:

  • Develop and maintain programs, processes and cadences to support the daily operations of the growing SMTR portfolio and team

  • Serve as the PMO for the team driving rigorous project management and organization across multiple workstreams

  • Partner with SMTR team leads on key projects, communicate effectively across management levels and help improve the team's execution effectiveness

  • Partner with GTS and GBS Sales Operations teams to understand business priorities and help align SMTR goals and objectives, execution

  • Partner with Finance and IT team to manage the SMTR and C360 budgets

Project Management:

  • Partner with C360 CoE, BU leaders and IT partners to lead key projects to drive consistent definitions, processes, shared technology capabilities and execution roadmap

  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to support our strategic technology recommendations and ensure that they are grounded in sound business economics

Leadership & Communications:

  • Lead preparation and development of executive-level presentations; represent the SMTR team in key leadership meetings

  • Partner with other GSSO teams to ensure that the SMTR objectives stay aligned with overall GSSO strategy and initiatives

  • Develop and deliver high-impact presentations tailored for senior executive audiences, effectively summarizing complex ideas and data into clear, actionable insights

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field; Master's/MBA preferred

  • 7+ years' experience in running business operations in a Gartner BU or 10+ years' experience in management consulting, professional services or related disciplines

  • Demonstrated experience in business planning, defining and maintaining roadmaps, and successfully executing across matrixed organizations

  • Ability to connect the dots from business strategy to programs/projects and provide strategic oversight on projects from several angles - change management, organizational design, operational excellence, operating model, etc.

  • Process-driven and highly structured professional with the ability to simplify complex problems, communicate effectively, and drive execution

  • Ability to adapt style to work effectively across a wide variety of global partners, including the confidence to push back and challenge where necessary

  • Curiosity and intellect, combined with excellent facilitation and active listening skills to bring structure to unstructured problems

  • Strong project management and organizational skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Exceptional executive-level communication and influencing skills

  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Experience in Sales technologies like Salesforce is preferred

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 116,000 USD - 164,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
