This is a full-time, salaried, leadership position based out of our Scripps Mercy campus in Hillcrest. This position will require the flexibility to work Monday-Friday and weekends as needed. This position will be supporting both our Scripps Mercy campuses in Hillcrest and Chula Vista.

Our Supervisor of Clinical Nutrition will plan and coordinate training and staff development for clinical staff. They will help monitor clinical dietetic performance. Will coordinate the provision of medical nutrition therapy and nutrition care to all patients utilizing technical skills in an acute care, skilled nursing, and/or outpatient setting. Provides clinical assessment, screening for nutritional risk, developing, implementing, and monitoring a nutrition care plan, education, and follow-up. Provides service to patients of all ages from pediatrics to geriatrics. Ensures compliance to Joint Commission Standards, Title XXII, and other applicable regulatory requirements. Will also help demonstrate age-specific care as established for area and job title and to support departmental needs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Food/Nutrition Science or related field
  • 3 years experience in an acute-care, sub-acute or skilled-nursing setting
  • Registered Dietitian through the Commission of Dietetic Registration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, complex problem solving, team development, strategic planning and systems planning/development
  • Knowledge of medical/scientific terminology with ability to communicate technical/clinical aspects of department. Understanding of the fundamentals of information systems and knowledge of computer word processing and spread sheets
  • Proficiency in Joint Commission, Title XXII, HACCP, Food Code and other applicable regulatory requirements with ability to translate into practice.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's Degree
  • Leadership experience
  • 5 years of Clinical experience
  • Specialty certification (CNSC, CDE, CSR, CSG, Adult Weight Management)
  • Member of a least one Professional Organizations, such as the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition
