THE JOB: The Senior Manager, Accounting is responsible for planning and organizing resources to execute routine, scheduled, and ad hoc functions across assigned areas. This leader ensures the team is effectively trained, work products are reviewed for quality, and communications regarding changes or issues are clearly shared with all stakeholders. A key area of focus for this role is Nevada gaming tax reporting and compliance, including regulatory filings. The position plays a pivotal role in driving process improvements, maintaining accuracy in tax-related accounting entries and financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and company policies-all while collaborating closely with internal partners across the enterprise. THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Lead the accurate and timely completion of Nevada Gaming Control Board filings. Manage a team responsible for journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities related to gaming tax. Partner with internal departments and shared services to ensure processes are scalable, compliant, and aligned with corporate accounting standards. Leverage automation, LEAN principles, and technology (e.g., RPA, AI) to drive continuous improvement. Manage team performance, establish goals and metrics, and provide regular coaching and recognition. Maintain understanding of upstream/downstream impacts on finance processes to support business operations. Support external and internal audits, and coordinate the preparation of documentation for local, state, and federal regulatory bodies. Ensure protection of company assets through compliance with regulatory reporting, contract oversight, and accurate financial controls.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience required. 2+ years of relevant experience required Prior experience with Nevada gaming tax filings (NGC1, NGC31, NGC32) or working knowledge of Nevada Gaming Control Board requirements. Advanced knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting practices. Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills. Proficiency with Excel and related Microsoft Office applications.
