JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Alumni Relations Specialist in the Eberly College of Science is a member of the Development and Alumni Relations team in the college. The overarching focus will be on the planning and implementation of all alumni activities and events that complement the goals and priorities of the Dean and college's Development and Alumni Relations office.

Responsible for the administration and coordination of:

  • alumni activities including alumni volunteer training

  • providing college speakers

  • promotional materials, and files and records maintenance

  • plan and attend Alumni Society Board of Directors meetings and ensure the successful development and implementation of the society's strategic plan, actions, and programs

  • organize and implement Alumni Society Board committee activities such as Career Days and college outreach events

  • serve as liaison between the Eberly College of Science alumni and the Penn State Alumni Association

  • initiate, plan, manage and staff Dean's receptions and alumni events, both on and off-campus

  • plan itineraries for award winners in conjunction with College departments

  • develop and initiate new alumni programming imperatives to increase alumni involvement and engagement

  • initiate, plan, and organize new activities for targeted alumni groups

  • plan and implement college activities including reunions, campus visits, tours and presentations

  • coordinate the College's alumni mentoring program including its annual training event and dinner

  • manage networking database of 70,000 college alumni

  • manage budgets of the program

Occasional travel is required. Requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus six years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written); expertise with data management software such as Cvent and familiarity with Web-based informational and business processes preferred.

This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$68,200.00 - $102,300.00
