The opportunity

Our Social Impact team is focused on building stronger communities where we live and work and creating measurable positive societal impacts that mitigate social risk and create shared value. We are looking for an Advisor, Social Impact to support execution of our giving strategy across the United States.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the U.S. regional giving program while also supporting our enterprise-wide employee participation initiatives.

You'll work closely with Operations, Community Relations, Environment, and Sustainability as well as employees and community members to enhance and protect the company's brand and reputation through strategic giving initiatives in communities where TC Energy operates. Your ability to balance community needs with evolving business priorities will be critical to advancing our social impact and sustainability targets.

What you'll do:

  • Oversee the U.S. regional giving budgets, ensuring compliance with internal governance and applicable laws
  • Facilitate regional committees to review and decision grant requests
  • Onboard regional committee members and provide ongoing training
  • Build and support new partnerships in priority markets across our U.S. footprint
  • Design and execute partnership activation plans to amplify investment stories
  • Develop both natural disaster and incident response plans, as needed
  • Plan volunteer events and team builds
  • Champion employee giving campaigns
  • Create communications materials in collaboration with Communications, including but not limited to: key messages, talking points, videos, briefing notes, and event displays
  • Act as a TC Energy ambassador at special events or partnership activations, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Benevity or other grants management software
  • Experience in the energy industry considered an asset
  • Experience working with external vendors and partners

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 - 8 years of professional experience in a social impact, community relations, communications, or a nonprofit environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or other relevant program
  • Strong project management skills with experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, developing metrics and delivering measurable results
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel domestic and internationally up to 15% of the time
  • Ability to work events outside of normal business hours, including nights and weekends
