Responsibilities

Peraton Space Technology Services (STS) is the prime contractor on the Environmental Test and Integration Services III (ETIS III) contract at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). We support the GSFC Engineering and Technology Directorate's Mechanical Systems Division in Greenbelt, Maryland. We provide facility operations and maintenance as well as integration and testing to support spaceflight hardware development.

The GSFC Environmental Test and Integration Facilities ensure spacecraft and flight experiments will withstand the rigors of launch and will operate properly in the space environment. In addition to operations, these technical facilities have on-going goals of advancing the state-of-the-art in the development of improved space flight systems. The GSFC Environmental Test and Integration Facilities are one of the most complete and comprehensive space hardware test complexes within the United States Government.

Join our dynamic and diverse Peraton Technology Services Team on site, at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), as our Deputy Program Manager. You have the unique opportunity to be engaged in multiple exciting space projects in the GSFC state-of-the-art facilities.

Responsibilities of the Position:

    Assist the Program Manager to manage day-to-day progress of the program through constant interaction with the Government customer, technical and business managers and immediate staff, subcontractor partners, and program support personnel.
  • Provide leadership, mentor-ship, and evaluate program staff.
  • Help develop and control deadlines, budgets, program schedule and activities.
  • Apply change, risk and resource management to complex program using various tools.
  • Review financial plans for the program.
  • Help maintain teaming relationships with subcontractors on the program and manage subcontractor performance.
  • Prepare, conduct, and run medium to large technical and management meetings with internal and external customers.
  • Pro-actively provide leadership continual feedback on key program metrics and contract activities using existing tools and feedback mechanisms.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering field, mechanical, electrical, or aerospace.
  • Ten years practical experience in satellite or spaceflight hardware design, fabrication and test and at least two years of experience managing a major program or department required.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability.
  • Travel: 10-30%

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with NASA contracts
  • PMP Certification or MBA

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
