Job Description: TITLE: EWIS (Electrical Wiring & Interconnection Systems) Engineer EMPLOYER: Airbus Americas, Inc. DUTIES: Evaluate and trouble-shoot avionics Engineering queries as they arise and provide solutions for the testing and repairing of electronic systems and components in a safe and professional manner. Utilize Engineering expertise to make sound Engineering decisions while under pressure and close deadlines regarding installation, troubleshooting, and discrepancy resolution. Analyze and review technical data during investigation to propose Engineering troubleshooting steps to resolve these technical issues, and Engineer electrical continuity checks, operational tests, and acceptance tests per Engineering and the manufacturer's installation instructions. Read and interpret Engineering wiring diagrams, system schematics, and utilize aircraft manuals as necessary for troubleshooting duties. Engineering the troubleshooting and repairs of Flight Management Systems (FMS), Satcom and Airborne Radio Telephone Systems, EGPWS/TAWS, communications, navigation, radar, TCAS/XPDR, DME, autopilot/flight director, audio, ADF, Cabin Management/In-flight Entertainment (IFE), and other sophisticated avionics/electronics systems. LOCATION: Mobile, AL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field + 3 years in any job title involving engineering experience in dealing with Aircraft systems including troubleshooting and problem solving in the aircraft manufacturing industry. Prior experience must also include: Working experience in CATIA and Enovia; Experience with procedures to assemble, install, terminate, and test wire harnesses to schematic specifications; Experience with engineering design specification and functional test procedure; Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, system schematics, and utilizing aircraft manuals; Working experience with engineering documentation and drawings for accuracy and applicability; and Working with Interface system (Avionics and ECS (Environmental Control Systems)) and other aircraft specialist including installations, stress, EMI (Electro-Magnetic Interference), EWIS(Electrical Wiring and Interconnection Systems), and Electrical. Up to 3 months a year international travel required for business meetings and training.
