Cognizant Technology Solutions is looking for a Mainframe Tech Lead to join the team of IT professionals in a role. Responsibilities: * Lead the design development and implementation of technical solutions using CICS VSAM JCL DB2 and Cobol * Be responsible for the technical aspects of projects ensuring alignment with business objectives, Process Improvement, system optimization and technical standards * Experience in Reengineering / Re-platforming from Mainframe to Distributed Systems * Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members fostering a collaborative and innovative environment * Collaborate with multi-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and develop detailed technical specifications * Ensure high-quality work by conducting detailed code reviews, testing, and debugging * Monitor project progress identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery * Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all technical solutions ensuring knowledge transfer and continuity * Optimize system performance by analyzing and tuning existing applications and databases * Remain up-to-date on industry trends and technologies by incorporating standard methodologies into project development * Develop effective communication between technical and non-technical collaborators to ensure a clear understanding of project goals and requirements * Chip in to the continuous improvement of development processes tools and methodologies * Participate in technical discussions and provide authoritative advice on sophisticated technical issues * Support production systems solve issues and provide timely resolutions to ensure minimal downtime Required Qualifications * Extensive development experience in CICS VSAM JCL DB2 and Cobol demonstrating deep technical expertise * Consistent record of effectively leading technical projects and delivering high-quality solutions * Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze sophisticated technical issues and develop effective solutions * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multi-functional teams * Experience in optimizing system performance and ensuring scalability and reliability of applications * Proficiency in keeping abreast of the latest industry trends and applying standard methodologies in project development * Good interpersonal skills with the ability to lead multiple projects and priorities optimally * Experience in conducting code reviews testing and debugging to ensure high-quality deliverables * Skill in crafting and managing detailed user documentation * Ability to facilitate effective communication between technical and non-technical collaborators * Commitment to continuous improvement of development processes tools and methodologies * Experience in supporting production systems and providing timely resolutions to technical issues * Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide team members towards achieving project goals. Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for the position is between $60,000- $93,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
