The Manager, Warranty, Insurance, and Property Tax is responsible for the coordination and expedited resolution of claims and appeals for RWECE's operating and construction projects. This role interfaces with Asset Management team leadership and the RWECE Insurance and Property Tax teams to identify and drive commercial resolution to high-dollar financial issues. This role reports directly to the VP, Asset Management.
Role Responsibilities:
- Responsible for resolving warranty, insurance and property tax issues for all RWECE projects in coordination with resppective support teams (Asset Management, Insurance department and Tax Department)
- Directly impact to RWECE's bottom line earnings results through advocacy for projects in areas of property tax, warranty and insurance
- Property Tax - Identify opportunities to lower property tax expense in coordination with the Property Tax team at assets across the portfolio
- Responsible for collaboration with Asset Management team members to evaluate areas where assessments are out-of-line with expectations, and coordination of appeals assessments with counties in conjunction with RWECE Tax department
- Property Tax - Coordinate compliance issues associated with state abatement requirements including Texas - Chapter 313 and Nevada annual abatement filings
- Insurance - Point of coordination for asset management with RWECE Insurance team to drive full and expedited recovery of amounts associated with claims
- Support for both business interruption (BI) and property damage (PD) claims, interfacing with external parties to advocate for highest possible recovery for insurance events
- Warranty support - Lead efforts to enforce project warranty claims across Wind, Solar and Battery Storage portfolios with OEMS, including interface with Legal and Operations teams to ensure full enforcement of warranty covenants
Job Requirements and Experiences:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or technical field
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a similar role
- Commercial knowledge of renewable energy projects preferred
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and resolve complex commercial issues under tight time requirements with limited oversight
- Ability to conduct in-depth financial analysis of complex commercial issues, exercising sound judgement in techniques and evaluation criteria to obtain results
- Accountable to team for delivery of tactical and strategic business targets
- Strong communication and negotiating skills
- Strong leadership and consultation communication, including ability to manage projects and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to manage customer relationships and network with key contacts in and outside of own area of expertise
- Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
- Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen and a sound understanding of business concepts
- Ability to multi-task while working independently and as part of a team
- Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented and strong problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
