The Opportunity

The purpose of this role is to strategically manage and develop a profitable portfolio of insurance products in alignment with the business plan. This involves providing leadership in product strategy, pricing, and portfolio management, while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The role also includes driving profitable growth, managing resources effectively, and overseeing the country's P&L for designated business lines within the organization.

  • Work Arrangement: This role is hybrid, where you will be expected to be in the office 2-3 days per week.

  • The salary range for this role is between $180,000-$338,000.

Your New Role

  • Support the development of the annual business plan for the portfolio and ensure its delivery.

  • Ensure team awareness of the business plan and its context for informed decision-making.

  • Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions, and good practice to minimize risk and maximize efficiency.

  • Establish and strengthen relationships with stakeholders to achieve business objectives.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of market dynamics and cycles to enhance business performance.

  • Continually develop expertise and technical knowledge through appropriate activities.

  • Underwrite insurance risks in accordance with the business plan and personal authority.

  • Contribute to the review and analysis of the portfolio to identify new business opportunities.

  • Ensure accurate recording of entries on Division systems for data integrity.

  • Manage team performance fairly and in line with the performance process.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Preferred Experience:

  • Underwriting experience in a senior role.

  • Leadership experience.

  • Converting analysis into strategy.

  • Customer centricity mindset.

  • Distribution experience.

  • Portfolio management experience.

  • Overseeing development of digital delivery.

Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate's professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE's annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.We encourage all candidates to apply, even if their salary expectations fall outside of this range, as we are committed to finding the right fit for our team.
