Position Summary
Oceaneering knows robotics. From operating the world's largest ROV fleet conducting mission-critical operations deep under the oceans, to deploying cutting-edge autonomous vehicles in warehouses and automotive operations, we know a thing or two about applying robotics technologies and solid cross-disciplinary engineering to help our clients bring automation to some of the harshest, dangerous, and most demanding environments. As a Product Development Integration Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. You'll collaborate with the Oceaneering Mobile Robotics (OMR) New Product Development and Projects teams to assist in troubleshooting vehicles and software; host tutorials and trainings in person and on the knowledge sharing portal; validate software releases on-site with customers; and develop automation tools for in-house testing and analysis.
Duties And Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL:
- Develop tools for automating in-house End of Line, Factory Acceptance, and Commissioning Testing.
- Aid in the support and continued development of OMR tools including DMT, EOLT Analysis Tool, and Mission Generator tools.
- Be an intermediate step between Projects and Product teams for vehicle on-site troubleshooting and integration via JIRA or similar issue-tracking methods.
- Create tutorials for new feature validation and integration.
- Be present in on-site test case generation discussions.
- Be responsible for new feature on-site validation tests direct with customers.
- Be responsible for technical bulletin and feature bulletin revisions based off validation tests.
- Host trainings for developing knowledge of vehicles and software as needed for newly hired engineers, technicians, PEs, etc.
- Work alongside NPD Test Team to stress test software before on-site validation.
- Collaborate with Product Teams in understanding product functionality.
- Provide consulting to Project teams and customers for implementing OMR products appropriately.
- Assist in understanding areas for Product improvements, such as new features or new workflows.
ADDITIONAL:
- Research and/or develop product features/functionalities with APE Product Team if time available.
- Setup automated test script for stress-testing software in controlled, duration loops.
- Develop relationship with site customers to bridge gap between disciplines of OMR.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited university
- Demonstrable multidisciplinary skillset (e.g. mechanical, electrical, software).
- Minimum 4 years' experience working in an engineering development environment.
- Proven experience in product testing.
- Familiarity with test methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Java).
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
DESIRED:
- Functional safety experience, especially with ISO 3691 and ANSI B56.5 for automated vehicles
- Controls engineering experience such as implementation of control loops, tuning and troubleshooting.
- ISTQB or other relevant certifications.
Additional Information
This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
