BlueHalo is seeking a talented and innovative entry-level Mechanical Engineer with experience in the mechanical design of individual parts and assemblies, and the drafting of drawings for manufacture and assembly. Working as a team member within the Mechanical Engineering Group, the candidate will be responsible for the design, manufacture/procurement, assembly, testing, and integration of mechanical systems, all while working within agile, multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications:



  • Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD software and PDM (CSWP certification highly desirable but not necessary)
  • Proficiency with drafting standards, tolerance analysis, and GD&T
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be able to attain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance (Note a clearance will not be required initially).



Desired Qualifications:



  • Experience with optical and opto-mechanical hardware
  • Experience with space flight hardware
  • Experience with machining, precision mechanism assembly, optical alignment, etc.
  • Experience with 3d printing and/or additive manufacturing
  • Experience with basic analysis including stress analysis, modal analysis and thermal analysis (basic analytical methods and/or FEA experience)


Travel: Yes, estimate less than 10% of the time
