We are looking for an iOS Software Engineer to join our SDKs and Toolkits engineering team at Vaisala's office in Minneapolis, MN. What's your role?

You will be part of our SDKs and Toolkits engineering team of passionate and skilled developers focused on building web, iOS and Android SDKs, tools, and digital experiences that integrate with our data services. Together with the team, you will help make it easier for developers to access and visualize our weather data within their applications. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to create high-quality, reusable, and scalable code that powers weather experiences globally. You will report to the SDKs and Toolkits team lead.

In this role, you will:




  • Deliver robust, testable, and maintainable iOS code using Swift and Objective-C
  • Develop efficient and high-performant rendering solutions using Apple's Metal API
  • Build and maintain developer SDKs that interface with weather data APIs and mapping services
  • Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality, usability, and reliability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent developer experience across platforms
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve our mobile tools
  • Occasionally write how-to articles and documentation to help developers understand and use our SDKs



What will you bring?




  • Strong knowledge of Swift and Objective-C
  • Proficiency in using Apple's Metal API (or OpenGL) and low-level graphics for high-performance rendering
  • Familiarity with modern iOS SDKs, tools, and best practices
  • Passion for improving developer workflows and building tools by developers, for developers
  • Experience working with map frameworks and rendering weather or geospatial data is a plus
  • Android development experience or interest in weather technologies is a bonus



ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE: $100,000 - $125,000 base salary. Salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, we offer our employees a competitive benefits package which is outlined below.
