DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will assist the administrative officer with the PA National Guard Military Education Incentives Programs by providing essential technical support. Key responsibilities include reviewing applications to verify eligibility for participation in the Military Family Education Program and the Education Assistance Program. Other duties include inputting data into Microsoft Office applications such as Access, Excel, and Word, as well as into the automated system of the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency. You will also address telephonic and email inquiries to resolve issues related to enrollment, eligibility, and timely actions. This role allows for a significant level of independence while adhering to established procedures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 5 days per 10 day pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Annville.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of advanced clerical or para-professional work which included the collection, recording, compilation, and presentation of office management or program related information; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • An Associate's Degree may be substituted for two years of required experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and pass a favorable NCIC screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Familiar with the PA National Guard Education Assistance Program (EAP) or the Military Family Education Assistance Program (MFEP)
  • Experience reading and understanding military documents
  • Familiar with terms associated with the military
  • Experience working with degree granting or certificate granting programs
  • Experience working with state grants or loans
