Description:

Test the in-place density of asphalt pavement during construction in accordance with specifications and standards.

Perform coring operations of asphalt pavement.

Efficiently and effectively report all test results to the Quality Control Manager and required parties as needed or directed.

Manage and maintain all testing equipment and resources.

Maintain and manage technical files and records, as required.

Support the overall efficiency of our quality control program.

Qualifications:

Computer and data entry skills required

Basic math and computing/technology skills.

Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision.

Ability to get along with others

Positive customer service-oriented attitude

Physical Requirements:

Work Environment: Outdoor asphalt paving and highway construction setting, including occasional night work, with exposure to uneven terrain, dust, dirt, and varying weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, and rain.

Proximity Hazards: Must be alert and able to work safely near construction equipment & public traffic.

Balance: Including standing and walking on extremely slick and uneven surfaces while carrying.

Vision: 20/40 corrected vision to see moving safety hazards, moving equipment, vehicles, and obstructions.

Hearing: Corrected to hear verbal safety warnings and instructions.

Awkward positions: Getting to and from both sitting and kneeling on the ground.

Heavy lifting: Awkward parts and equipment up to 50 lbs. from floor to shoulders.
