Quality Control Internship

We are currently accepting applications for interns. Our Interns will be exposed to a number of different roles performed by engineers with the intent of demonstrating the variety and breadth of roles that are represented by engineers within the superconducting wire industry. Our interns will work closely with one of our staff in multiple areas and assist our engineers with delivering these projects.

Collaborate with the Quality and IT team to develop applications and manufacturing documentations.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications using Python and Django.
• Build automation scripts in Python to manipulate databases and streamline processes.
• Customize and improve user interfaces using JavaScript, CSS, and Django templates.
• Maintain daily software database log, including detailed description of identified bugs or defects and troubleshooting activities.
• Assist with installation and configuration of workstations and instruments.
• Use CAD skills to design or modify parts to be used in assign project works.
• Participates in the implementation of quality control practices in accordance with the project quality control plan.
• Assist with various manufacturing engineering initiatives via data collection, analysis, and recommendations.
• Learn process troubleshooting techniques and production issue resolution tactics
• Maintain a daily diary or log of work activities, meetings, and significant conversations or verbal directions.
• Learn to use process improvement tools, such as Process Mapping and measuring.
• Root cause analysis.
• Statistical process control.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Preferably a college sophomore level (minimum), currently enrolled in an accredited university with a major in electronics or engineering. Junior standing preferred, Sophomores and Graduate Students will be considered.
• Acute attention to detail with proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Knowledge of information security systems and SQL Database.
• Knowledge of Phyton, Javascript, CSS, Django, JSON.
• Able to use the basic functionality of MS Office/Project
• Willingness to work in and gain knowledge of manufacturing environment.
• AutoCAD or SolidWorks experience preferred.
• Demonstrated organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to deal with complex manufacturing issues.
• Capacity to understand the scope of work, specifications, and drawings of assigned projects.
• Knowledge of design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
• Understanding of quality control practices.
