Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) Opportunity at New Hospital!

Recenelty opened in early 2022, Granite Hills Hospital is the new provider for behavioral health services to the greater Milwaukee region.

The new hospital features:

  • 120 beds in a state-of-the-art building spanning 83,000 square-feet;
  • five distinct 24-bed units, including three 24-bed adult units, with a dedicated adolescent unit
  • programming to serve adolescents and adults
  • intensive day programs and outpatient care.

Patient rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art safety features that facilitate healing and compassionate care including:

  • indoor gymnasium;
  • therapeutic environments that incorporate calming color tones, wall decor and natural light throughout the building design; and
  • safe outdoor wellness courtyards for recreation.

The new behavioral health hospital is owned and operated by UHS as an independent hospital open to all members of the community. In addition, there are designated beds at the new hospital to provide care for patients referred from the Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division (BHD).

The Chief Nursing Officer is a key member of the Granite Hills Leadership Team who will integrate and coordinate a patient centric nursing strategy with a hands-on approach and keen focus on patient care; ensuring that delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services and in accordance with government regulation, licensing and accreditation requirements. The CNO participates in the hospital's strategic planning and contributes to the achievement of institutional goals and objectives. The CNO will focus on 5 key areas: People, Service, Quality, Growth, and Finance

PEOPLE: Creates an environment which supports employee development and teamwork to deliver compassionate patient care in a safe environment.

SERVICE: Creates systems, processes and care standards to support the delivery of patient care in a safe, fiscally sound environment of service excellence.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Licensure: Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the state of WI.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a CCNE accredited nursing program; Master of Science in Nursing is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of behavioral health nursing clinical practices and management.
  • Extensive knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Three or more years of progressive nursing management experience
  • Ability to plan, direct, and monitor others' activities with demonstrated leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment
