Make your mark at the world's largest HVAC company Daikin Applied is seeking a Human Resources Representative to administer various programs primarily dealing with employment, pay, benefits, and employee relations matters by performing the following duties. Location: In office, Staunton, VA. What you will do:
- Counsel employees on human resource policies and procedures related to transfers, promotions, pay, benefits, and conditions of employment
- Serve as the initial point of contact for new hires
- Administer the facility badge system, safety shoe program and service awards
- Support employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive work environment (track annual donations, community events, etc.)
- Maintain accurate human resources data, including employee records, medical/workers' compensation files, training records, and other employee records
- Process status changes and update HRIS for hires, terminations, job changes, salary/wage changes, benefits, and personal data changes
- Process invoices and check requests for Human Resources and miscellaneous departments
- Prepare reports as requested
- Assist employees with benefits programs, including life, health, dental, and disability insurance, 401(k) plans, vacation, leave of absence, and employee assistance programs
- Respond to employee questions about benefits and enrollments
- Update hourly timecards when needed by supervisors
- Update and track attendance based on leave approvals
- Coordinate with Payroll to ensure timely pay during leaves
- Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation
- Administer the recruitment process by performing any of the following: maintaining recruitment files in accordance with the requirements of the OFCCP
- Conduct new hire orientations
- Periodically review materials distributed during orientation and in recruitment packets and update or recommend improvements
- Prepare first report of injury and maintain records of accidents for OSHA reporting
- Monitor existing Workers' Compensation claims and ensures that progress is made in rehabilitating employees
- Administer union labor agreements including job bidding, transfers, wage changes, department changes and discipline logs, etc.
- Participate on Safety Committees, attend union grievance meetings and assist with union negotiations preparations, may participate in union negotiations as requested
- Administer Service Award program
- Monitor salaried and hourly attendance
- Conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations
- Ensure that the Exit Checklist is completed
- Prepare information for the state Unemployment Agency
- Attend Unemployment Hearings, as needed

Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- 6-8 years related experience and/or training
- PHR certification preferred
- Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

- The typical salary for this position ranges from $53,500-$85,700 in Virginia. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
