Description

Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Manager

Reports to: Senior Director of Finance

Supervises: Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Staff

Summary Statement: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Manager with a strong accounting background to lead and optimize our financial operations. This role focuses on process improvement, requiring the candidate to identify inefficiencies, implement innovative solutions, and ensure compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have a combination of a deep understanding of accounting principles, strong leadership, and a passion for driving change.

Essential Job Functions



  • Supervise the department staff ensuring maximum efficiency and quality through coaching, training, mentoring, enforcement of company policies and evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data integrity in AP/AR systems.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities by preparing analytics, reconciliations, and ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Provide detailed analysis of AP/AR metrics to support decision making.
  • Analyze current AP/AR processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Lead initiatives to automate and digitize accounting processes, leveraging accounting software and tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of implemented changes.
  • Work closely with finance, operations, and other departments to ensure alignment with organizational goals.


Accounts Payable



  • Oversee the end-to-end AP process, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and reconciliation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices while maintaining compliance with company policies.
  • Assist and guide the AP team in resolving discrepancies with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure transactions comply with GAAP and internal controls.


Accounts Receivable



  • Manage the AR process, including invoicing, collections, and customer account reconciliation.
  • Develop strategies to reduce outstanding receivables and improve cash flow.
  • Address customer inquiries and disputes promptly and professionally.


Marginal Job Functions



  • Assist other personnel as time and knowledge permit.
  • Participate in training and meetings as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience



  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
  • CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (eg, D365, Medius) and advanced Excel skills are required.
  • Proven experience in AP/AR management with a strong accounting foundation is required.
