THE POSITION

The Bureau of Corporations and Charitable Organizations needs you to help maintain registration and financial information for businesses and charities across the Commonwealth. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will serve as a lead worker for a team that reviews and processes various types of routine business filing applications for consistency, completeness, and accuracy, then determines whether to approve, fully reject, or request corrections on each application. Your responsibilities will include assigning and reviewing work for lower-level clerical staff, training employees on work processes and policies, accurately processing payments, and reviewing and correcting data entry errors. You will also respond to inquiries via telephone and in-person from applicants, the general public, Legislature, stakeholders, and Commonwealth agencies and other States' agencies in order to resolve problems and provide information. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

This position is subject to the provisions of a collective bargaining agreement or memorandum of understanding. If no applicable union-covered bidders apply, other applicants may be considered.
