About Worldwide Research and Development

The Senior Manager of Medical Information will be responsible for the day-to-day management of medical information services related to BioMarin products, including case inquiry processes and document management. They will assist in the development and implementation of process changes that will enhance service both locally and globally. They will collaborate to ensure cross-functional alignment within Medical Excellence and other relevant stakeholders, as well as partner on medical information resources/activities for program strategic support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day management of Medical Information Services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, and Marketing, to develop and maintain medical information materials.
- Assist IM with development and oversee maintenance of a comprehensive medical information database, ensuring accuracy and currency of information.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Evaluation and monitoring of published information and extraction of pertinent data from the scientific literature
- Responsible for maintenance and quality assurance of inquiry/response data and documents in medical information databases, including support for the management and use of global system.
- Periodic review and revision of standard responses to ensure responses reflect current available medical information.
- Responsible for inspection and audit readiness and representation as needed.
- Coordination of timely and launch-ready medical information resources.
- Management of insights from the dissemination of medical information, which includes, but not limited to, analysis, collation, and targeted delivery to maximize impact for internal and external HCP/patient stakeholders.
- Support the management of the BioMarin medical website, which includes the creation of content, coordination of content placement, and website functionality.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a relevant scientific or medical field
- A minimum of 3 years of drug information/medical information experience in the healthcare industry is required
- Strong understanding of medical and scientific acumen
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Strong understanding of federal regulations pertaining to medical information/communication
- Able to organize and prioritize assigned workload independently and to employ efficient time management strategies when performing medical information activities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required; experience with medical writing preferred
- Experience with quality management systems preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to travel as needed (<10%)

The salary range for this position is: $136,600 to $204,800. BioMarin considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
