Come and join TR as the Americas EHS Manager within the Risk & Compliance team as we work to transform Thomson Reuters into a content-driven technology company. With the transformation comes new and emerging risks. We are looking for a curious, collaborative, and driven EHS professional who can partner with all TR stakeholders to help us integrate EHS requirements into operational processes.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

This is a key Risk and Compliance role within the region and is directly responsible for ensuring EHS programs/processes are implemented across the region to support TRs commitments and compliance assurance. Our matrixed organization leverages collaboration and partnership as a foundational principle, leading to preferred outcomes.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

This position ensures the successful delivery of EHS Programs within the Americas Region, leading to high levels of customer service and satisfaction. The Americas EHS Manager is responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships at the site level and leveraging synergies across the region.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

In the role of EHS Manager - Americas, you will

  • Provide EHS technical guidance in support of business strategies and operational changes, including globally as directed.
  • Partner with other respective regional leads (FM/Security/HR/Legal) to guide in execution of their EHS responsibilities.
  • Understand and align the business, organizational and functional directions to drive EH&S strategy for each location within the region.
  • Manage EHSprogramsacross the region including, data collection, performance analysis and ensuring legal compliance.
  • Provide rapid response to business units and customers through localized presence and knowledge.
  • Build and maintain relationships with leaders/colleagues/partners in the region
  • Identify emerging practices and opportunities to deepen EHS program maturity within the region
  • Align policies, processes, and best practices with business line strategies, thereby maximizing the value that EHS delivers to customers
  • Partner with EHS global colleagues and ensure regional alignment with EHS strategic objectives, create a safe and healthful workplace, minimize adverse impacts to the environment, and meet compliance requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with the EHS committees/teams to identify innovative solutions and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety standards and policies and be confident incommunicating &implementing.
  • Assist with the planning, design, and implementation ofprograms/solutions.
  • Support the Resilience function in enhancing its maturity in line with the functions Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on EHS efforts in the region
  • Take on special projects and assignments as required

ABOUT YOU

You are a fit for the role of EHS Manager - Americas if your background includes:

  • Experience managing EHS regulatory compliance across multiple locations (experience with US safety, health and environmental regulations is a must)
  • Comprehensive understanding of environmental, health and safety program management and implementation within an international organization
  • Strong cross-discipline focus with the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy in making decisions
  • Strong leadership skills, exceptional business and finance acumen, and well-developed interpersonal skills required to build a successful and cohesive team
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required; proactive communication skills are a requisite in establishing and maintaining customer confidence
  • Ability to synthesize complex situations into key components and manage resolution effectively
  • Proficiency in establishing and building key stakeholder relationships to meet the goals of the organization
  • Vendor management skills with specific experience partnering with third party vendors in the region
  • Financial analysis and business acumen
  • Versatility to understand various and complex subjects to adequately build collaborative, productive and trust-based relationships within the business segments and functions
  • Change Management, Management Systems implementation, and Process Improvement
  • Detail oriented, with proven ability to mobilize and energize cross-functional teams to implement solutions and complete tasks.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail, with the ability to autonomously set and meet deadlines.
  • Expert knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in safety management, industrial hygiene, environmental science, or other relevant discipline.
  • Master's Degree desirable
  • 5+ years in a similar role or equivalent experience
  • Industry recognized EHS certifications are desirable
  • Fluency in English and strong cultural awareness of diversity within the region. Fluency in Spanish a plus.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations.
For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $99,400 - $184,600.
This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
