The Academic HR Analyst 2 will provide human resource assistance for a wide range of HR functions that involve implementing, administering, coordinating Human Resource policies, labor contracts, statutes, programs, and procedures covering several of the following areas: payroll, benefits, compensation, labor contracts, employee and labor relations, timekeeping, inter-location transfers, visa processing, recruitment and retention, classification review and various staff and faculty services.
The position has a heavy focus on payroll, timekeeping, and leaves management. The analyst will apply knowledge of HR and Academic Personnel business processes, policies, and practices to help resolve payroll or personnel items. Serve as a resource to employees and supervisors to refer them to appropriate channels such as employee relations, recruitment, classification/compensation, immigration for international students and scholars, and health and welfare benefits.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in related field and/or combination of experience and education.
- Experience with human resources processes, systems, and personnel administration including handling confidential information.
- Experience with payroll processing with an automated system and payroll calculations.
- Experience reviewing and preparing time reporting documents and providing payroll services.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to research information and /or situations to forecast impact of potential action or need for follow up.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage projects.
- Interpersonal communication skills to partner with various UC department units and executive level management to resolve staffing issues.
- Ability to take initiative to analyze need, problem-solve, determine appropriate course of action, and implement follow up procedures in a competent manner, within scope of authority.
- Effectively use computerized communication/information systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 or more years of human resource experience in a hospital or research setting.
- Experience with academic appointment processing, funding, training grants and fellowship.
- Experience and skill using various computer software program and UC applications including MS Office, UC Path, MyInfoVault, APHID, Aggie Service, Cognos, and AggieExpense.
- Experience with Employee Labor Relations and various bargaining units
- Thorough knowledge of human resources concepts, policies and procedures, employment practices, labor relations, salary administration, training, etc.

Department Overview
The Departments of Neurology, Neurological Surgery, and the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) consist of 450 employees across staff, student, volunteer, academic and non-faculty academic titles in the School of Medicine.
Under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer, Academic Operations Manager, Department Chairs, and Center Director, function as a Senior HR Generalist within these units.
