Additional Job Description:

The West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and Department of Neurology in the WVU School of Medicine seek a neurologist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The candidate will be expected to practice in Keyser, WV and Oakland, MD.

By providing accessible neurologic care, our communities can benefit from better management of care, earlier interventions, more consistent follow-ups, and better overall health outcomes.

Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of neurology. This is primarily an out-patient position with limited in-patient consultation.

Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successful candidate must have completed a neurology residency program and must be board certified/eligible in neurology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Potomac Valley Hospital in Keyser, WV, is a twenty-five bed, critical access medical facility employing over two hundred area residents and extending privilege to approximately 50 physicians. We strive to provide quality, efficient and cost-effective health care to Mineral County and surrounding area, utilizing both direct services and collaborative arrangements with other health care organizations. Potomac Valley Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. We are ready and equipped to provide the most modern healthcare available.

Garrett Regional Medical Center in Oakland, MD, was recently named one of the top 20 rural and community hospitals in the country by the National Rural Health Association (NRHA). This is the third time GRMC has received national recognition as a top 20 rural and community hospital. GRMC also received the prestigious honor of Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital by The Chartis Center for Rural Health for 2025, marking the seventh consecutive year of recognition. GRMC is one of only two hospitals in Maryland to make the list.

GRMC and PVH are full members of the WVU Health System, which continues to grow specialty services in this area which includes parts of eight counties across Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
