Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Security the Global Security Intern utilizes internal processes and external tools to identify risks that may impact Nutrien's personnel and facilities. The analyst will be required to accurately process emerging and developing information, communicate actionable intelligence, contribute to travel risk and threat assessment products, as well as intake emergency phone calls and provide support during crisis situations.

What you will do:




  • Continuously monitor worldwide events in real-time through social media, open-source information, and proprietary services to evaluate and disseminate information on any threats to Nutrien's employees or its locations.
  • Process data and compose accurate and timely communications, according to established procedures and templates, to notify relevant stakeholders (security management, employees, travelers, leadership, etc.).
  • Conduct research and produce analysis for wide-ranging security assessments with a geopolitical scope. Able to deliver these high-quality assessments in both written and verbal form.
  • Analyze daily developments to identify trends and patterns, provide forecasts, and make recommendations.
  • Ability to gain familiarity with a country or issue quickly.
  • Must be comfortable sending out communications via a mass notification system to a large number of staff in the event of a crisis.
  • Evaluate and assist staff in obtaining proper travel approvals, for proposed travel to high-risk locations.
  • Directly support travel security initiatives through preparation of location threat briefs.
  • Provide research and analysis of personal protection situations for designated personnel worldwide.
  • Conduct due diligence investigations on entities and persons as directed.



What you will bring:




  • Currently enrolled in Applied Intelligence Studies or Cyber Security program, 2nd or 3rd year completion preferred.


  • Strong knowledge of world affairs and Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) experience necessary.
  • Knowledge or exposure to the following areas preferred:

    • Research skills
    • Interest in and understanding of geopolitical trends and news
    • Analytical exposure necessary to accurately draw conclusions by processing raw data and information from multiple unrelated sources into a finished comprehensive product
    • Experience with subscription-based tools such as social media analysis, GIS, travel tracking etc.




Compensation & Benefits:

The pay range is estimated for the Intern, Global Security roll in New York is $20.73 to $23.72 per hour.Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

We provide an attractive benefits package that includes catastrophic coverages including life, accidental death and dismemberment, and business travel accident insurance for a position of at least three months in duration and more than 30 hours per week. Our benefit package also demonstrates our culture of care with paid sick days and holidays as well as an Employee and Family Assistance Program. A Student or Intern role does not participate in any retirement savings or incentive programs. Nutrien will comply with benefit and retirement regulations, as necessary.
