FPT is a wholly-owned business of Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Program Manager Security at our Detroit, MI location. The Program Security Manager is responsible for managing and directing the development, implementation and evaluation of company-wide security and risk minimization programs to ensure secure facilities as well as physical security and security of company assets. Summary of Responsibilities:
- Provides company-wide leadership in all areas of security, loss control, security best practices and security programs including strategic planning and company-wide collaboration. Collaborates with company management, divisions and external groups to effectively resolve security-related issues.
- Audits operating procedures to ensure compliance with state and local laws related to the purchase of scrap; monitors and evaluates effectiveness.
- Monitors security conditions and conduct ongoing analysis of data received from both external and internal sources, and Director of Security on appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
- Implements security training programs for the organization and directs company-wide security compliance. Provides frequent communications to the organization concerning security.
- Works closely with yard management to implement and maintain physical security technologies including but not limited to; various card key access systems, alarm systems, video surveillance systems, security services, and various other related systems.
- Performs periodic audits of all cash scale systems and documents such audits. Performs undercover and other investigative work.
- Assists with the interpretation of security laws, regulations, and contract requirements; monitors company compliance; and maintains relationships with law enforcement, regulatory agencies, and other issuers of security requirements.
- Familiar with international (US and Canadian), Federal, State, and local regulations, national standards and best practices relating to security systems. Must be aware of the implications of legislated requirements that impact security for the organization.
- Strong working knowledge of all aspects of physical security and technologies. Must understand and be familiar with current industry and market trends related to physical security.
- Technical knowledge and organizational skills with the ability to oversee security-related projects with high visibility and high impact on the business.
- Experience with auditing, risk management as well as contract and vendor negotiation.
