We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance team in Gurnee, IL. In this full-time days position, you will ensure the performance and reliability of mechanical systems including rotating equipment, conveyors, drives, and support infrastructure. You will play a key role in maintenance planning, equipment diagnostics, and continuous improvement efforts in collaboration with Maintenance, Production, and Technical Services teams.

This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is an opportunity to make an impact by improving equipment efficiency and supporting safe, high-quality operations.

This position is located in our Gurnee, IL location

The current hourly range for this role is estimated to be $37-$40 specific compensation offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

What You'll Do:

Maintenance & Repair

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems including pumps, compressors, turbines, conveyors, and piping

  • Perform scheduled, preventive, and emergent maintenance activities

  • Support on-site maintenance teams with diagnostics and escalate complex issues as needed

  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment

Planning & Scheduling

  • Prepare work orders with necessary resources: SOPs, tools, permits, equipment history, and parts

  • Coordinate with Production to schedule maintenance based on asset availability and priorities

  • Lead weekly scheduling meetings and track KPIs to support continuous improvement

  • Provide feedback and updates to Technical Services to improve maintenance strategies

Documentation & Systems

  • Accurately record maintenance activities in SAP or similar CMMS systems

  • Prepare quotes for high-value work orders and ensure BOM accuracy

  • Monitor spare part inventory and ensure availability through spare parts planning processes

  • Close out work orders and document follow-up actions

Teamwork & Compliance

  • Collaborate with operators, contractors, and support teams

  • Adhere to all safety, environmental, and quality standards

  • Wear required PPE and operate in environments with heat, humidity, and height (up to 12 stories)

  • Operate forklifts and JLGs as needed (forklift certification preferred)

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace

What You'll Need:

Education & Experience

  • Technical diploma or equivalent experience in mechanical maintenance

  • 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or manufacturing environment

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency with SAP or other CMMS platforms

  • Knowledge of rotating equipment, piping systems, and general mechanical repair

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and P&IDs

  • Experience with welding, rigging, and metal fabrication (socket/butt welds, SS tubing, PVC)

  • Forklift certification preferred

Additional Information:

Work Schedule:
Full-time with occasional on-call or off-shift work to meet operational needs.

Travel:
Minimal, up to 10% if required for training or support.
