The Director of Commercial Operations -Systems oversees the development, implementation, and optimization of Salesforce and commercial operations systems within the US ORTHO commercial organization. This role involves owning the implementation of Salesforce by developing a strategic roadmap aligned with sales goals and broader business objectives. It includes leading cross-functional initiatives, managing platform integrations, and connecting commercial functions through an omnichannel approach to enhance customer engagement and operational efficiency. This role will drive the integration of data, processes, and technology to enhance commercial strategies and ensure operational excellence across sales, marketing, customer service, data analytics, and sales operations functions. The Director will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, efficient, and effective solutions, supporting business growth and improving customer engagement. What will you be doing?
- Develop the strategy and execute a Salesforce implementation and a roadmap aligned with sales strategies and broader business objectives
- Streamline Salesforce workflows and automations to boost sales productivity, improve pipeline visibility, and enhance forecasting accuracy
- Build and optimize the Salesforce ecosystem - including CRM, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Communities, and Commerce platforms
- Design and lead Salesforce training programs, create learning resources, and drive adoption through continuous education and feedback loops
- Work to meet customers across their buying journey how they want to interact
- Implement an omnichannel approach by connecting sales, marketing, and commercial functions and expanding digital capabilities
- Ensure data integrity and governance while delivering actionable insights through collaboration with BI teams and tools like Salesforce, CRM Analytics, Unified Data Platform, Snowflake, Power BI, etc.
- Lead major operational and strategic initiatives, including platform integrations, change management efforts, release management and commercial enablement
- Oversee the integration of commercial systems with enterprise-wide platforms, ensuring seamless data flow, process automation, and actionable insights across departments.
- Develop and manage project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies, ensuring the successful delivery of commercial systems initiatives.
Location: Based in one of our facilities or remote What will you need to be successful?
- Bachelors degree or relevant experience
- 5+ years of experience in commercial operations, business systems, or sales operations
- Prior experience in the medical device, life sciences, or healthcare industry is highly preferred
- Strong background in Sales Operations, CRM or other commercial systems management
- Proven experience driving the implementation and optimization of commercial systems across multiple functions
- Strong understanding of B2B sales processes and pipeline management
- Excellent communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience with sales enablement platforms and sales tech integrations preferred
