Holcim Solutions and Products US, LLC, has an opening for a Product Testing and Code Approval Specialist. This is a full-time office position that would require approximately two weeks of travel each month between testing and attending roofing industry organization meetings. The ideal candidate possesses and apply a strong knowledge of roofing, roofing design, and construction; have technical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication, ability to handle multiple tasks, and interpersonal skills. This is a salary-based position with excellent benefits and growth opportunities that would report to the General Manager. Essential Functions:
- Organize and maintain Product Testing and Code Compliance Department data library on the shared drive.
- Filing for Product Approvals (PA's) and Notices of Acceptance (NOA's) are critical parts of permit applications. They are documents provided by the manufacturer of a construction product that demonstrates a product is approved for use in Florida when installed in specific conditions and using specific methods.
- Assist the Department in obtaining Private Label Agreements (PLA's) to support NOA's
- Assist and solicit test reports from 3rd-party laboratories such as Factory Mutual (FM), Underwriters Laboratories (UL), and other testing and code agencies.
- Assist the Department with organizing reports related to codes and testing
- Keep track of changes needed for product approvals, NOA's, state reports, product evaluation reports, etc.
- Constant coordination with Engineering and Quality Assurance departments regarding existing product data and performance and help identify new testing and re-testing of products.
- Create Scope of Work (SOW) to have company's product approvals, NOA's and evaluation reports revised and updated with appropriate agencies and jurisdictions.
- Assist the department when needed in building test samples for internal and external testing
- Yearly review of company's list of products with Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) and assist with random testing of company's products.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or four years of experience in a technical field related to manufacturing or product testing and code compliance.
- Proficiency with MS Office required.
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to identify and resolve outstanding technical issues to properly close and file relevant reports.
