Own Your Future. Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a SkillBridge Fellow specializing in Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) / Digital Engineer in Dayton, OH.

This is an unpaid internship for a transitioning military member using the SkillBridge fellowship program.

Responsibilities

  • Apply a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach to analyze complex technical and intelligence data.
  • Develop system Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), Concepts of Employment (CONEMPs), and system requirements documentation.
  • Support system design, testing, and integration using MBSE tools and techniques.
  • Translate technical findings into clear written, visual, and verbal narrative products.
  • Participate in system requirements reviews and update technical documentation.
  • Conduct trade studies to support the evaluation of design alternatives and operational concepts.
  • Contribute to test planning, execution, and analysis of results.
  • Identify and help mitigate technical risks across the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to support mission engineering analysis and solution development.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience.

  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and tools like Cameo Systems Modeler/Architect.

  • Familiarity with UAF, DoDAF, TOGAF, UML, and SysML.

  • Strong verbal/written communication and ability to present technical concepts to varied audiences.

  • Understanding of system interfaces and requirements management.

  • Experience integrating systems or software processes and analyzing functional system workflows.

  • Proven problem-solving skills with ability to address complex issues.

  • Experience on multidisciplinary teams (engineers, scientists, designers, technicians).

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with architecture tools (MagicDraw, Rhapsody, Sparx EA, Cameo EA Suite).

  • Proficient in tools like CORE, MagicDraw, or MapleMBSE for full lifecycle system support.

  • Familiarity with Java/JavaScript for EA macros.

  • Understanding of version control and database management.

  • Engineering experience with military hardware.

  • Proven success delivering solutions to complex, multi-disciplinary problems.

Education:

  • Bachelor's in a related field from an accredited institution, or 9 years total experience in lieu of a degree.

Clearance:

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required.

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
