Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ is seeking a dynamic individual to join the Math Department. The successful candidate will focus primarily on teaching undergraduate courses in mathematics and related areas while significantly contributing to our research initiatives. We will consider candidates who show potential for excellence in teaching a wide range of undergraduate courses, including mathematics, statistics, data science, and programming. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, demonstrating excellence in teaching, and effectively communicating with undergraduate students. They will actively engage in research activities, particularly those involving undergraduate students, to enhance the academic experience and advance their field. Additionally, the position requires active participation in the department and university through service and collaborative initiatives. The Mathematics Department at ERAU Prescott offers a Bachelor of Science in Simulation Science, Games, and Animation (SSGA), a Bachelor's in Data Science, and a Minor in Mathematics. Staffed by 18 dedicated full-time faculty, the department provides specialized education for its degrees and supports all campus programs with essential math coursework. QualificationsTo complement our current strengths, we especially welcome applicants from diverse research backgrounds, including but not limited to applied mathematics, data science, computer science, and statistics. A terminal degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in data science, mathematics, statistics, or a closely related field is required at the time of appointment. Preference will be given to candidates whose experience or research enhances our department's breadth and who can teach across disciplines. Applicants with expertise in programming applied statistics, or interdisciplinary applications of mathematics are especially encouraged to apply.
