Title: EHS Technician
Location: Plaquemine, LA
Salary: $84,300 - $110,400
Schedule: 9/80 Schedule Available
Focus: The EHS Technician is responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating, and administering the EHS programs for Maintenance, Contractor, and Site Logistics ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards. The position also has the responsibility for the implementation of the EHS management system in order to meet business objectives and to maintain the license to operate.
EHS Technician Essential Job Functions:
- Develops, implements, and maintains the EHS plans and programs for the site; trains and coaches appropriate teams and/or personnel on those programs utilizing EHS work processes, standards, and procedures.
- Ensures that the EHS aspects of Operating Discipline are adequate and properly enforced and applied to achieve performance goals; collaborates with colleagues to make certain that issues are addressed timely and incorporated into the Operating Discipline efficiently.
- Acts as the function resource for related EHS information on procedures, guidelines, and standards while serving as the primary contact for Maintenance, Contractor, Site Logistics and various sitewide EHS issues.
- Coordinates, participates in, and provides data for relevant audits, assessments, reporting requirements, and investigations, ensuring preventative actions are implemented to avoid issue and/or finding reoccurrence.
- Performs gap assessments of related work process implementation and develops action plans for issue resolution.
EHS Technician Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's Degree* in Environmental, Safety, or related discipline preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of chemical manufacturing experience.
- Experience with Radiation programs, licensing, and performing Radiation Safety Officer duties is preferred.
- Experience ensuring compliance with Contractor PSM requirements preferred.
- Familiar with contractor management programs including site access, incident reporting, and incident/investigation processes preferred.
- Prior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred.
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license.
