Building the world's leading sound experience starts with the experience we provide for our people. That's why we've been distributed from the start: initially between offices in Boston & Santa Barbara, and now with additional offices around the globe. This role can be done from any of our offices across the United States or remotely from home. It's about impact, not location.

A Sonos Senior Americas Retail Trainer is responsible for bringing educational moments to life across North America to our partners in the retail channel, while managing cross functional projects. The ideal candidate for this role will have a deep understanding of consumer electronics, be an expert on home audio and networking solutions, and have a passion for communicating stories to a large variety of audiences. What You'll Do:

  • Present engaging educational content verbally to both small and large audiences in a variety of formats. These formats include in-person events and meetings, live and pre-recorded webinars, on-camera video training, and live trade show events.

  • Travel regularly to train during large scale retail-focused educational opportunities in the US, Canada, and Mexico.

  • In collaboration with Retail Account Managers, own the relationships with retail training contacts to organize training initiatives and strategies to drive engagement and sales. This work will include achieving revenue goals for these partners and collaboration during quarterly business reviews.

  • Manage Sonos' relationships with third-party agencies and their labor to ensure they are operating with efficiency and impact.

  • In collaboration with the Sonos Marketing team, ensure that our retail partners have the learning content needed for on-demand learning platforms.

  • In collaboration with the Sonos Marketing team, create sales training materials that will empower retail associates to evangelize and sell Sonos products and services at point of sale, in-home, or during installation.

  • Manage key educational projects and product launches in the retail space.

  • Speak the operating languages of the audiences we connect with: retail staff and consumers, professional audio-video installation, and more.

  • Navigate and deploy different communications styles dependent on the audience.

  • Work in a fast paced, ever changing environment that requires flexibility and compassion for both partners and internal teams.

  • Collaborate remotely and in-person to innovate how the Sonos Global Education Team connects with our audiences to make our training activities the most enjoyable and fulfilling educational experiences in the industry.

  • Communicate with our partners outside of training events to answer questions and clarify key topics.

  • Capture and analyze audience feedback from training activations and communicate actionable insights to relevant teams (product, marketing, etc.)

  • Keep up with industry trends and technology to ensure that the team is the authority on any topic that complements or competes with Sonos.

  • Continually practice presentational skills to maintain training performance at an elite level.

  • Continue to build on the legacy of "best in class" training moments that Sonos has delivered over the last 10+ years.

What You'll Need:

Basic Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience, and success with enthusiastic public speaking and on-camera presentations

  • 5-10 years of education or sales experience in retail environments

  • Effective experience in communicating knowledge to others in a retail environment

  • Effective experience in building learning materials

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects from incubation to completion

  • Language fluency in English

  • The ability to travel throughout North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia for in-person training events on a monthly basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in audio video retail, installation, or design

  • Proficiency in writing in a clear and conversational style

  • Humility to identify opportunities in oneself and the team

  • A passion for consumer and professional electronics

  • Experience collaborating with teammates and cross-functional teams

  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Google Slides

  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite, specifically Adobe Premiere

  • A curiosity to learn new skills and a dedication to master those skills.

  • Highly organized and able to deliver multiple projects at the same time.

  • Additional language fluency in Spanish, French, and German

  • A love of the music and home theater experiences

At Sonos, our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and geographical location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. All full-time employees are eligible for merit increases and discretionary bonuses as applicable. Please note that compensation details listed in US job postings reflect the base salary only and do not include bonus or benefits.

Our base pay range for this role in our 'tier 1' US geographies is:

$107,000 and $134,000
