The hourly range for this role, based in Fort Smith is $28.80 to $36.00. The range will vary if outside of this location. Base salaries Hourly Rates are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate'sexperience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.

Purpose / Overview

  • The Controls Technician is responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient performance of the automated plant processes, systems and lines. They must be multi-crafted with a heavy emphasis on software and control systems. Their work includes online troubleshooting and repair, planned work, continuous improvement, capital projects, maintenance projects and training of other technicians and plant operators. Their activities are driven by area performance and planned work order requests. Controls Technicians are responsible to identify, prioritize, plan and execute day-to-day activities with little or no supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all Pernod Ricard Safety Rules & Policies to ensure a safe workplace
  • Comply with Pernod Ricard quality and food safety practices, GMPs, and other food safety and regulatory standards to ensure a quality product
  • Must have the ability to flex schedule to accommodate business needs
  • Maintain the software infrastructure of the site
  • Develop new technologies to support changing and outdated software systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning control systems when other resources are unable to correct their problems
  • Be a resource to the commissioning and start-up of all new equipment installations and upgrades
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities (Kaizen, Lean, and TRACC OpEx)

Preferred Education

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree or equivalent in mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering
  • In-depth electrical/electronic training
  • Technical training from an accredited school and/or military experience in related fields
  • Experience with process, filling, bottling, packaging, labeling equipment maintenance

Key Experience

  • 5+ years' experience maintaining electrical control and mechanical systems on complex process and/or high-speed production equipment
  • Verifiable experience with PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and various communication protocols
  • Verifiable experience troubleshooting, testing, and repairing instrumentation and controls
  • Verifiable experience troubleshooting, testing, and repairing 480VAC three phase power distribution and motor control circuits
