Job Purpose and Overview

An Associate Key Account Manager (AKAM) at Dawn supports the Key Account team, including Key Account Managers (KAM) and Strategic Account Managers (SAM). They assist in all facets of account management to grow sales, support customers, and strengthen relationships. The AKAM role is perfect for someone who enjoys meeting new challenges and exceeding expectations, which are qualities of all our Key Account team members.

The AKAM may come to this position from several different roles where they acquired unique insights about business and have come to appreciate the critical role of the sales organization. They are open and excited about learning new skills, committed to career growth, and able to anticipate others' needs, often before they are articulated. Work Environment & Travel: This is a remote position with up to 30% travel. To effectively support customers and the key account team, candidates must reside within the Southeastern region to be considered.

What will you do as a Senior Key Account Manager at Dawn Foods?



  • Sales and Customer Support: Dawn AKAMs serve as a single point of contact on some projects to promote a seamless customer experience on key accounts. With larger projects, where complex bakery solutions are involved, they support KAMs and Sr. Key Account Managers (SAMs) as needed, addressing multiple details as they emerge.
  • Project Management: AKAMs will be supporting KAMs and SAMs who coordinate cross-functional teams around customer projects. This includes sharing information before meetings, documenting discussions, summarizing outcomes, and following up after meetings to ensure progress is made.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: AKAMs at Dawn will proactively communicate with cross-functional teams internally and with our customers so that stakeholders are aware of project status at all times. As a central hub for communication, AKAMs will be building strong relationships across project teams.
  • Operational and Administrative Responsibilities: Our sales team utilizes Salesforce to manage information flow and develop strategic plans for all assigned accounts and prospects. The AKAM may be asked to append customer information or enter project updates as needed to promote alignment with other team members.
  • Professional Development:Dawn AKAMs develop their skills supporting regional trade shows, product demonstrations, plant tours, and customer events. We encourage AKAMS to build new knowledge and skills to further our business, and we support employee development for everyone.



What Does It Take to be a Senior Key Account Manager at Dawn Foods?

Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.



  • A High School Diploma or a General Education Degree (GED) is required
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a similar discipline.

    • Will accept 4 years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree.


  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in selling or marketing, preferably within the supermarket channel, or transferable B2B sales experience

    • A minimum of 1 year of experience and/or the ability to manage key accounts or similar, drive sales growth, leverage existing relationships, and deliver profitability.


  • Basic understanding of account management, sales, and customer service
  • Proficient with multiple software applications, user interfaces, and digital technologies, including Salesforce or similar, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Able to travel up to 30% of the time



Channel Specific Needs:



  • Knowledge and experience selling to supermarkets (ISB - in-store bakeries) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting multiple customer stakeholders (e.g., buyer, purchasing, operations, R&D - research and development, and more)
  • Exposure to indirect selling approaches that involve a customer and their business partner(s)



Preferences:



  • Prior sales experience with bakery ingredients or similar
  • Prior experience with business communication and/or project management
  • Spanish-speaking capabilities strongly preferred

  • The normal setting for this role is remote with up to 30% travel and requirements to reside in the Southeastern region to effectively support customers and the key account team.
  • Significant travel is required, approximately 30% of the time.

Compensation

$90,960-$145,540 with incentive eligibility
