Job Description
We're Hiring: Utilization Specialist

Helping patients, guiding teams, and mastering the money side of medicine.

Do you love solving problems, talking to people, and making things run smoothly behind the scenes? As a Utilization Specialist, you'll be the go-to expert for helping patients navigate the sometimes-tricky world of insurance and financial clearance. You'll be part investigator, part communicator, and all-around healthcare superhero.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Be the Friendly Face First
You'll often be the first person patients talk to about their hospital stay or procedure. Your goal? Make it smooth, stress-free, and clear.

  • Make Sure It's All Covered
You'll verify insurance, collect copays and deductibles, and make sure all approvals and pre-authorizations are in place. You're the bridge between patients, clinics, and insurance companies.

  • Ask Smart Questions
You'll gather key info from patients to get everything ready for authorizations and scheduling-no guessing games here.

  • Lead the Way
Help train new staff, take charge on special projects, and be the expert others turn to.

  • Collaborate Like a Pro
You'll team up with clinicians, financial counselors, insurance reps, and schedulers to keep the whole process humming.

  • Keep It All on Record
Use our revenue cycle system to document every step-because details matter!

What You Need to Succeed
  • High school diploma or equivalent (college is great, but not required).

  • 2+ years of experience in customer service or healthcare admin.

  • Strong knowledge of insurance, medical billing, CPT & ICD9 codes.

  • Comfortable typing (at least 30 words per minute).

  • Excellent communicator with top-notch people skills.

  • Detail-oriented and good at juggling tasks without dropping the ball.

  • Microsoft Office whiz (Outlook, Word, Excel-you know the drill).

Bonus Points If You Have:
  • Experience with authorizations or admission notifications.

  • Worked directly with clinicians or in utilization management.

  • Hands-on time with patient registration or eligibility checks.

  • Coursework in medical coding or terminology.

Why Join Us?

Because we're not just checking boxes-we're building a team that cares deeply about patients and coworkers. If you want to be part of a collaborative, mission-driven environment where your attention to detail and people skills truly make a difference, we'd love to meet you
