We are seeking a talented individual to fill the position of HEOR Medical Strategy Lead for Rare/Orphan Diseases. This role could be based out of one of two locations: Our US Headquarters in Atlanta, GA, or our location in Raleigh, NC.

About the role:

The HEOR (Health Economics and Outcomes Research) Medical Strategy Lead will be responsible for planning, implementing, and delivering a health economics and outcomes research strategy aligned with access aspirations. This includes implementing innovative HEOR activities and partnerships that produce scientific insights and evidence to support product value propositions within the US for UCB's rare and orphan portfolio. The HEOR Medical Strategy Lead will play a key role in developing the engagement approach of value propositions and HEOR evidence to key US payers, policymakers, and formulary influencers. They will also lead field engagements for the rare and ultra-rare portfolio.

What you'll do:

  • Lead HEOR strategy aligned with payer and corporate objectives
  • Translate business needs into actionable HEOR initiatives
  • Execute HEOR projects in health economics, PROs, epidemiology, and policy
  • Collaborate with clinical teams on PRO strategy in development plans
  • Develop and deliver HEOR plans for rare/orphan products
  • Lead field payer engagements for rare/orphan portfolio
  • Create impactful engagement strategies for payer audiences
  • Align with access, medical, and global teams on evidence generation
  • Monitor industry trends and maintain best practices
  • Training internal teams

Interested? For this position, you'll need the following education, experience, and skills:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree and a minimum of 15 years of experience in health services research, public health, epidemiology, or health economics in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology environment OR

PhD, PharmD, or MD and 10 years' experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of payer experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in RWE and publication
  • Minimum of 1 year of field HEOR experience
  • Must be able to travel 25% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in rare disease
  • 5 years of payer experience
  • 5 years of experience in RWE and publication
  • 3 years field HEOR experience
  • Demonstrated success in contributing to multi-disciplinary teams, including outcomes research, clinical research to support product marketing, reimbursement and formulary acceptance
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate scientific evidence, with strong written and verbal presentation skills
  • Broad experience in collaborating with research partners/vendors and in managing multiple tasks and complex projects
  • In-depth knowledge of the U.S. healthcare system, healthcare regulatory, reimbursement and policy environment/customers

This position's reasonably anticipated salary range is $197,600 to $259,400k per year. The actual salary offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
