Job Purpose and Overview

We are looking for a proactive AI Engineer to join Dawn Foods as our first in-house AI resource. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of AI within the bakery food distribution sector. You will focus on applying artificial intelligence to optimize business processes, starting with enhancing inventory visibility to improve customer service and minimize waste.

This role is ideal for recent graduates with internship experience in AI, data science, or related technical fields. We are looking for someone technically skilled, innovative, eager to grow, and who can bridge the gap between technical possibilities and real business needs.

Work Environment & Travel: This is a remote position with up to 10% travel.

What will you do as an AI Engineerat Dawn Foods?

• Engineer end-to-end AI solutions to address business challenges, focusing on data-driven decision-making and automation.
• Partner with business teams to analyze requirements and provide actionable AI insights.
• Build and deploy scalable, secure, and efficient AI models for inventory, supply chain, and operational optimizations.
• Use AI to enhance data visibility, predict trends, and support real-time decision-making across the organization.
• Develop tools and dashboards using the MERN stack to empower business users with next-gen analytics.
• Contribute to a culture of innovation and digital transformation at Dawn Foods.

What Does It Take to be an AI Engineer at Dawn Foods?

Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.

• A Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a similar technical field is required.
• Internship experience in AI Development/Design, data sciences, computer science, or similar technical fields is required.
• Demonstrated experience in deploying AI projects that address real-world business challenges.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interpret AI concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Relationship builder who can collaborate across departments to deliver impactful AI solutions.
• Adaptable and innovative, with a mindset geared toward continuous learning and improvement.

Technical Expertise:

• Proficient in AI model development, Python, SQL, and MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js).
• Hands-on experience with next-gen analytics and machine learning tools (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch).
• Familiar with AI guardrails, responsible AI use, and ethical considerations.

Preferences:

• An AI Developer certification is a plus, but not mandatory
• Experience in supply chain or inventory management is a plus.

Compensation

$78,370-$122,260 with bonus eligibility
