This role will oversee all aspects of shipping and pick and pack operations to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate fulfillment of orders. Role is responsible for tracking orders, managing shipping documents, directing package flow, and ensuring timely delivery of complete orders. Supervise and coordinate activity of workers engaged in verifying and keeping record of incoming shipments and preparing items for shipment. Determine shipping priorities, work assignments, shipping methods, space requirements, and position of shipment in trucks required to meet shipping schedules. This role is an exempt position that will report directly to the CDC Manager. Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and accurate shipping of products to customers.
- Supervise, train, and mentor the Locus automation, pipe yard, packing and shipping team, fostering a culture of accountability and productivity.
- Resolve any issues related to shipping delays, damages, or discrepancies.
- Identify opportunities to streamline picking, packing, and shipping workflows.
- Track and analyze key performance metrics and report out on progress.
- Assign daily tasks and set performance goals to meet productivity and accuracy standards.
- Negotiate shipping contracts with carriers to reduce expenses and improve service levels.
- Schedule materials being transferred to and from CDC, coordinates transfer of inventory between departments and the different warehouse locations.
- Determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and methods required to meet shipping schedules.
- Determine space requirements and position of shipment in trucks and lay out position of shipment.
- Inspect loading operation to ensure compliance with shipping specifications, and seals loaded truck doors.
- Direct movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
- Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping reports and data accurate.
- Collaborate with other teams to align warehouse and shipping strategies with overall business goals.
- Pick, pack and prepare orders for delivery; load vehicles; Supervise and oversee auditing of orders. Audit orders when needed or assigned.
- Supervise the processing of requisitions and requests to invoice for reimbursements of warehouse codes; complete requisitions for materials needed to assure adequate stock levels.
- Operate and demonstrate use of specialized warehouse equipment as necessary; assure proper and routine maintenance and servicing of warehouse vehicles and equipment.
- Work with other departments to improve equipment functionality, throughput, and uptime of equipment.
- Performing all tasks while following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), manufactures literature, and safety policies. Amend existing SOP's aligning with best practices.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned.
Compensation: $65,000 - $85,000
- Five years Warehouse leadership experience and training
- Extensive experience in supply chain ideally within an electrical distribution business
- Data analysis, understanding of logistics system processes to drive accuracy and efficiency
- Familiar with a variety of electrical industry concepts, practices and procedures
- Ability to develop close working relationships with both customers and colleagues
- Relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
- Possess in depth knowledge of QED computer systems, Eclipse, Microsoft Office, etc.
- Collaborate, mentor, motivate and lead logistics associates in a matrix organization
- Team player who acts in alignment with QED's strong core values and beliefs
- Forklift certification and other similar equipment experience.
- Knowledge of shipping/receiving practices, policies and techniques.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
