Coperion is now hiring a Fabricator to join our team in Kansas City, MO.
Fabricators are responsible for operating 100+ ton hydraulic presses to produce stainless steel sheet metal parts according to blueprints, ensuring adherence to form, function, and tolerance specifications. The role includes working on custom and standard parts ranging from small components to full-sized sheets. Schedule: Monday through Thursday 5:00am to 3:30pm
Operate sheet metal equipment such as brakes, rolls, and use hand tools as required. Use plate rolling machines to shape cones, bodies, and other parts for hoppers. Assist in running semi-automatic seam welders to prepare parts for assembly. Fabricate special equipment as required. Read blueprints for use in welding and fabrication. Clamp, hold, tack-weld, manipulate, grind and/or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding. Detect faulty operation of equipment and/or defective materials and notify supervisors. Examine work pieces for defects and measure with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance and specifications. Keep your own work area clean and orderly.
- Must be dependable, accurate, self-motivated, and possess a strong work ethic.
- 2 + years of experience operating brake press and plate rolls.
- Ability to use a tape measure.
- Basic knowledge of math and geometry.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Must have a keen attention to detail in order to produce quality parts.
- Must possess the ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly as well as climb ladders.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly, and up to 100 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferably have 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with CNC laser helpful, but not necessary.
- MIG and TIG weld skills helpful, but not necessary.
