Position:Wafer Technician

Location:Greater Boston, MA (Onsite)

Length:6+ months

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Wafer Technician to join its high-performing team. This position offers the opportunity to work on the cutting edge of microfabrication and semiconductor technology in a cleanroom environment, contributing directly to the production of precision hardware used in critical applications.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Execute wafer fabrication, packaging, and assembly processes including, but not limited to:

    • Photolithography
    • Electroplating
    • Chemical analysis
    • Metal deposition
    • Oxidation
    • Reactive-ion and deep reactive-ion etching
    • Plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition
    • Wet etching
    • Pick-and-place operations
    • Laser drilling and encapsulation

  • Follow detailed process documentation and work instructions in the execution of production recipes for deliverable hardware.
  • Operate and maintain semi-automated and automated fabrication equipment requiring moderately complex manual skills.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance, cleaning, and calibration tasks under limited supervision.
  • Document work accurately and consistently using handwritten logs and standard software tools (i.e., MS Word and Excel).
  • Participate in on-the-job training and focused instruction to support skills development and potential advancement.
  • Support other production or technical assignments as directed by supervisory personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of applicable technical education plus 2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of applicable experience, meet the minimum requirement.
  • Experience working with sensitive electronic components or cleanroom protocols is preferred.
  • Basic familiarity with computer systems and common office software (i.e., Windows, Word, and Excel).
  • Ability to follow complex instructions and maintain attention to detail in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Active security clearance is strongly preferred. Candidates without an active clearance must be able to obtain a secret clearance upon starting this position.
  • Candidates must be a United States Citizen.
