Position Summary: Selected candidates for an Level One Purchasing Specialist position will learn tasks specific to the coordination of activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies for organization. Level 1 Purchasing Specialist will assist in reviewing requisitions and prepare purchase orders or bid requests. Additionally, they shall confer with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule, and maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories. Candidates must be self-disciplined and self-motivated individuals with strong accountability (attention to details) skills. Level 1 Purchasing Agents shall possess customer service skills, responding promptly to customer needs and the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Other responsibilities will include maintaining a clean and organized work area, as well as adherence to organization safety rules and regulations. As a condition of assignment, Level 1 Purchasing Agent candidates must have understanding of ITAR compliant file sharing and transfer using ITAR compliant FTP site, and may be expected to access information and product controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and/or Export Administration Regulations.
