Wastewater Operator

The Wastewater Operator Operates and provides maintenance of all equipment and processes related to the wastewater treatment system.

Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:

• Operate and troubleshoot wastewater treatment system.
• Calibrate pH and ORP probes.
• Inspect and operate tanks, plumbing and level switches.
• Collect samples and perform routine laboratory tests and analyses.
• Run batch processes and manage standalone waste processes in various areas.
• Assist with ordering parts, chemicals and materials for wastewater system.
• Assist with chemical corrections for clean line processes.
• Assist with management of solid and liquid waste haul-off with third parties.
• Assist with revising standing operating procedures related to any waste processes.
• Follow all policies and procedures.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of related experience preferred.
• HAZWOPER certification preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Wastewater treatment is preferred.

• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Knowledge of wastewater discharge, sampling and treatment are a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of hazardous waste is a plus but not required.
• Ability to use handheld meters for water sampling and document data on field logs.
• Understanding of collecting and measuring KPIs to make data driven decisions.
• Experience with documenting procedures and participating in executing EHS programs a plus but not required.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision after receiving detailed instruction and expectations.
• Ability to develop and deliver training programs as required.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced, large general industry environment.
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) a plus but not required.
• Communication skills, both written and verbal.
